1943-2023
Wilma passed away peacefully on February 12, 2023, at the age of 79 and was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wood, only a few hours earlier. Wilma Jean Burgess Wood, of Houston, Texas, was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma, on July 9, 1943, to Carranza Burgess and Lois Tedlock Burgess
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Carranza and Lois Burgess, her brother Elmer "Butch" Burgess, and her husband of 48 ½ years, Kenneth Wood
She married Kenneth Wood on July 4, 1964, after meeting in the Oklahoma State Marching Band. They had two daughters, Cynthia and Sharron Wood. Wilma graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a lifelong musician, playing the piano, clarinet, bass clarinet, handbells, and recorders. Sewing was a passion of hers, having sewn many dresses for brides and designed and sewn many quilts, which she has won awards for and given away. Wilma touched many lives of her family and friends through her sewing and music.
. She is survived by daughters Cindi and Sharron Wood and grandson Bronson Morrill. She is also survived by her niece, Dianna Price, great-nephew Jason Lewis and great-niece Amanda Six, and many extended family members.

Those serving as Pallbearers: Donnie Price, Jason Lewis, Ben Six, Ethan Price, Jan Murray Burgess, and Monroe Burgess Jr.

Viewing and Visitation is scheduled for 3:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday, February 17th, 2023 at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 E. Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma

Lunch will be served at 11 AM Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Little Cussetah UMC Fellowship Hall, 24205 S 220 Rd, Henryetta, OK 74437

Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00PM at Little Cussetah UMC Fellowship Hall, 24205 S 220 Rd, Henryetta, OK 74437.

Interment to follow at Burgess Cemetery.
