Sidney Janet Thrower

Sidney Janet Thrower was born Sidney Janet Burris on April 10, 1953 in Norman, Oklahoma to Sidney Burnett Burris and Bonnie Mae Burris (Gandy). Janet was the oldest of five children. Her siblings Ted, Caroline, Shelly, and Linda grew up in Grady County. Janet graduated from Newcastle High School.

After graduation, Janet entered the workforce. During that time, she met Wayne Buck. Wayne and Janet married August 10, 1973. Wayne and Janet had four children Gabriel, Michael, Dawna, and Trey. Gabriel and Michael passed away as infants. Wayne and Janet spent time traveling and spending time with friends and family. Wayne and Janet divorced in 1992.

Janet was the first female supervisor at Dayton Tire. Janet was very proud of her work and accomplishments at Dayton Tire. She met her current husband, Larry Thrower, while working at Dayton Tire. She enjoyed her friends that she met during her time there.

During her marriage with Larry, they have lived in Oklahoma City, Lake Texoma, and Lake Eufaula. They have enjoyed going to church, spending time with friends and family. Larry has two children from a previous marriage Tammy Mccaig and Ricky Thrower. Together Larry and Janet have enjoyed spending time with their 10 grandchildren, Krista, Coleman, Kennedy, Triston, Sydney, Sierra, Aden, Graysen, Brody, and River.

Janet loved her family. She had struggled with several health conditions over the past years. Whenever she was able, she loved spending time with all of her family. She would often call just to chat. Janet was a giver. She often had gifts for her grandchildren and could never keep a secret or a present until the holiday. Pamba and Mom were definitely her favorite titles.

Janet was always a positive person. She would often tell you how proud she was of you. She wanted you to feel good about yourself. She always tried to see the best in others.

Janet will be missed by all of those who knew her. She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Burris, husband Larry Thrower, daughter Dawna Buck, and son Trey Buck. She is also survived by her siblings Ted Burris, Caroline Kinsey, Shelly Wallace, and Linda Shafer.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00PM-Thursday, October 9th, 2020 at the Church of Christ, 413 W. Broadway, Henryetta, Oklahoma
