Sammy Ray Harjo

Sammy Ray Harjo, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away August 15, 2021 in Okmulgee, OK at the age of 59. He was born Tuesday, April 17, 1962 in Claremore, OK to Buddy Harjo Jr. & Wanda Faye (Lewis) Harjo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leslie Harjo, brother, Robert Sattefield, sister, Anita Jo Harjo, and nephew, Robert Bullet.

Sammy is survived by his son, Darren Harjo of Joplin, Missouri,
son, Russell Harjo of Joplin, son, Paul Kelly & wife Erika Harjo of Okmulgee,
daughter, Jennifer Kelly & husband Thomas Hotema of Okmulgee,
daughter, Kari Harjo & husband Jess Locust of Okmulgee,
and son, Mark Harjo & wife Aubrey Frye of Okmulgee,
19 grandchildren, brother, Wesley Barnett of Tulsa, brother Robbin Harjo & wife Deanna of Tennessee, brother, Stanley Harjo of Bristow, OK, brother, Cheebon Proctor & wife Norma of Okmulgee, sister, Tamy Harjo of Okmulgee, sister, Amy Sue Harjo of Hanna,
sister, Loretta Harjo & husband Randy of Okmulgee, sister-in-law, Cindy Harjo of Okmulgee, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Wake Services are scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.

Pallbearers will be Vince Baccus, Scotty Harjo, Brandon Harjo, Cody Harjo, Brian Harjo, Adam Starr, and Grant Harjo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen Harjo, Solomon Morgan, Jess Locust, Thomas Hotema, Dennis Mitchell, Grant Proctor, Charles Kelly and Braden Cox.
