Percilla Darnise Snell, known as Darnise, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, just days shy of her 63rd birthday. Darnise was born on October 10, 1960, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Jesse and Leatrice Hunnicutt. She lived in Weleetka, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and invaluable memories.
Darnise is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Thomas "Tom" Snell, her daughters, Maggie Guynes and husband Billy of Okmulgee, Laurel Norton of Weleetka, Jessica Sheneman and husband Grant of Weleetka, and Karen Paxton and husband Joe of Weleetka, her sons, Daniel Peña of Okemah, and Jose Snell of California. Her abundant heart extended beyond her immediate family, joyfully evident in the vast number of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren she leaves behind. She was the beloved sister of Johnny Hunnicutt and was also affectionately regarded by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
As a woman of many interests, Darnise passionately loved her dogs and relished in Harley rides with Tom. Her heart held a deep fascination for the ocean and a touching love for dolphins. Though quite ornery, Darnise's loving and generous spirit was ever present. She had a knack for making anyone who crossed her path feel loved and an essential part of her family.
Darnise Snell was a humble woman who possessed a loving, generous, and kind heart. Her legacy will forever reverberate in the hearts and lives of those she touched. Truly, her memory will be a treasure that her loved ones will forever cherish.
