Mary Wesley (McGowne) Johnson a lifelong resident of Henryetta and Wilson communities, went to be with our Lord and entered into eternal life on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at her home in rural Henryetta, OK at the age of 81. She was born March 17, 1932 in Morris, OK to James McGowne & Lucille (Fisher).
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, an aunt and good friend to all. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mary lived her life to please God and devoted most of her time to her family and her church. She cared deeply for her church and church family at the United Pentecostal Church in Dewar, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James McGown and Lucille Fisher, her first husband Jack Childers, and her 2nd husband, Norman Johnson, 3 brothers, Ause Yocham, Carl McGowne, and Junior McGowne.
Mary is survived by her 6 children,
Gary Childers & wife Debbie of Oklahoma City,
Larry Childers & Laren Neumeyer of Muskogee,
Allen Childers & wife Kim of Sand Springs,
Marilyn Childers of Columbia, Missouri,
Mark Johnson & wife Joanne of New York,
and Joe Johnson of Henryetta,
3 grandchildren, David Childers & wife Paula of Oklahoma City,
Shyla Ray of Columbia, Missouri,
and Felicia Johnson of Eufaula,
as well as 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Integrity Funeral Service. She will be taken her home on Friday for family visitation and wake service. A Graveside Service will be held on at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Johnson Family Cemetery 25501 South 170 Road, Henryetta, Oklahoma 74437 with Rev. Gregg Joki, officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
