Jon Russell Farris, Sr. a resident of Henryetta passed away on Friday, June 26th, 2020. He was born on January 21, 1960 to James and Gladys (Truex) Farris.

Jon accomplished many great things in his life. He served our country for 12 years in the Air Force as an Environmental Serviceman. He also served as Commander at the American Legion in Henryetta. He was a hard-working employee for many years at Hillcrest Hospital in Henryetta. Jon proved to be a fighter as a cancer survivor of more than a decade. Jon took great pride in spending over the past 32 years dedicated to maintaining his sobriety. He mentored others in the community and impacted countless lives. He loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his dogs; Ladybug, Seamus O’Leary, Louie and Carl. Jon will always be remembered for his caring heart, dedication, words of wisdom, and the passion he had to help others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Farris.

He is survived by his wife, Leah Ledford; son, Jon Russell Farris II; daughter, Crystal Farris; stepson, Trisytn Wilson; stepdaughter, Cheyenne Wilson; granddaughter, Maddison Fry; sister, Rusti Boyles; brother, Jason Farris; honorary brother, Frank Seamon; nieces, Kelly Folsom, Alexa Farris and Claire; nephews, Micah Boyles and Bradley Farris and many other family members and friends.

No local services are planned. Interment will be at a later date at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Lawton, Oklahoma.
