Hazel Armer Obituary

Mrs. Hazel Louella Armer, 86, a resident of Bethany, OK, passed away on Tuesday, February 25th in Oklahoma City, OK. Mrs. Armer was born in Dogtown, OK to Ida Bell (Berryhill) and Arthur Alton Blankenship on July 24th, 1933.

Hazel L. Armer, “Sally” was born and raised to adulthood on a large, working farm in Dogtown, OK. In 1956 she married William H. Armer. By 1959 she had three small children to raise. She lived most of her adult life in Dustin, Oklahoma. She loved to garden and tend to her birds.

She wrote many letters to grandchildren that included stories and illustrations about the little creatures that frequented her yard. She loved to cook, try new recipes, and share food with friends and family. She made several beautiful baby quilts, small braided rugs, and other handicrafts. Other hobbies included collecting stuffed bears and adding yearly to her Christmas village. She has lived in a senior retirement center for the last ten years in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Due to ill health she spent the last few months in assisted living. We will miss our sassy Sally.
