Guy Sylvester Rader, Jr., 85, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed away Friday, April 19th, 2024 i Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Guy was born July 8th, 1938 in Joplin, Missouri to Edna (Smith) and Guy Sylvester Rader Sr.
Guy is preceded in death by his wife Emily Fay, son, Richard Lee Rader and sister, Clara Denise White, and granddaughter, Shelby Lee Rader.
Guy was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended school until about the age of seventeen years he would meet and marry his wife Emily Faye (KItchens). Very soon after, Guy would join the Air Force where he would learn his vocation as a Senior Electrical Planner in the building of ships and submarines in the shipyards. After he returned home from his service in the Air Force he had his family and would continue his work as an electrician. His son Guy III and he would travel the United States for over twenty-five years consulting in electrical and supervisory positions in various plants and factories, auto plants, oil refineries and other industrial businesses.
Guy would retire at the age of sixty-three years due to his failing health He would then spend more leisure time playing professional poker at various casinos and in tournaments. After having lived in Mississippi he would move to Henryetta in 2021 to live with Guy his son. Guy enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish Guy's memory are his son, Guy Sylvester Rader III, of the home, his grandson, Guy Sylvester Rader IV of Henryetta, Oklahoma, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
