Douglas Johnson

Douglas Johnson was born on January 28, 1943 in Red Hill, Oklahoma to Kenneth Johnson and Thelma (Reed) Johnson. He passed away March 22, 2022 in Glenpool, Oklahoma at the age of 79.

Doug was a minister of God and pastored a church for many years in the Texanna, Oklahoma area.

Doug married his wife of 59 years, Ruth Hooper in Okemah, Oklahoma on July 29th, 1962. They resided in Eufaula, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Thelma Johnson, two sisters, LuElla Hayes and Donna Thomason, and a granddaughter, Hollie Summers.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Johnson of the home;
Four children, Kathy Winter and husband Bart of Hitchita;
Linda Robison of the home;
Dougie Johnson & wife Stephanie of Henryetta;
LaClifta Thomas and husband Mike of Delaware, Oklahoma;
Five brothers, Tommy Johnson & wife Sherri;
Ronnie Johnson & wife Joyce;
Billy Johnson & wife Kathie;
Charles Johnson & wife Mary;
Donald Johnson and wife Linda;
A sister, Peggy Johnson;
Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren;
Three very special friends, Lupe & Donda Quintanilla and Mike O'Neil;
A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives;

Viewing for Doug will be Saturday, from 5-8 pm, Sunday from 1-8pm, Monday from 8am until noon.

Pallbearers will be Bart Winter, Scooter Robison, Charles Johnson, Billy Johnson, Donald Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Scott Hares, & Scott Hodges.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike O'Neil, Richard Ross, Mike Spiller, Robert Gallegos, Chad Hares, Keith Thomason, Travis Thomason, Bart Winter, Jr., Justin Winter, Ricky Hodges, Jr., Darrell Gene Wood Robert Martin & Dirk Wood.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at Gospel Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Tommy Johnson officiating with Walter Forte assisting. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
