Della Proctor Obituary
Della Mae Proctor was born on February 6, 1958, in Talihina, OK. She ended her earthly life on March 14, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.
She was raised by her parents Andy & Judy (Lasley) Proctor on the homestead in Vernon, OK. From a young age, Della was a Matriarch: she helped raise her nieces & nephews and then had her own two children, Ellie and Steven. She loved being a mighty Hanna Dragon & was a proud graduate of the Class of 1976.
She earned an associate degree from OSUIT in Information Technology and served many years working for her tribe, Muscogee (Creek) Nation. In addition to this, she served many roles in her family, community, and church. She was the official party planner for the Proctor family & hosted many gatherings over the years, creating a tight-knit family unit. She was an award-winning frybread champion and could throw down in the kitchen. She was faithful, passionate, outspoken, protective & loved fiercely. She loved to travel and be outside in nature around a good campfire. One of her special places was her church, Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church.
Della had many names- Auntie, I-Della, Dolla, Deller, the "Dellagator" but above all else, she was Nan. The Matriarch of the Procter family. Her transformation into Nan began with the birth of her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Josiah, Isaak, and Kolby. She was so excited to become "Granny Nanny" to Josiah's twins due in a few months. Luckily, her grandkids didn't mind sharing her and she was Nan to all: she was open, welcoming and accepting of everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Judy (Lasley) Proctor; brothers, Bill Proctor and Luster Proctor; sister Linda McCoy and brother-in-law Melvin McCoy; nephew Keith McCoy; and her beloved dogs Cisco, Sage & Lovey.
She is survived by her children, Ellie & Daniel Factor and Steven Barnett; grandchildren Kaitlyn Factor, Josiah Factor (Jen), Isaak Factor, and Kolby Factor; and her forthcoming "greaties", the new Factor twins; brother, Andrew Proctor (Tonya) and sisters Minnie Cannon, Liza Proctor, & Lula Tansey; and her best friend Ron. She is also survived by a host of nieces & nephews whom she loved as her own: Jeffrey Proctor, Darrell Proctor, Richard Proctor, Judith Kay Proctor, Andy Proctor, Grant Proctor, Meske Proctor, Preslee Proctor, Evan Tansey, Vince Proctor, Jordan Proctor, Jonathan Proctor, Patricia Fields, Melissa McCoy, Pamela Cravett, Jalissa Lauderdale, Thomas McCoy, Mia Cravett, Carmen Fields, Jensi Fields, Angela Proctor, Ryan Bowman, Frank Bowman, Cole Bowman, Charlotte Salmon, Billy Proctor, Kelli Proctor, Joshua Cloud, Kelsey Two Bears, Amberly Sampson, Darrell Proctor II, Kai Two Bears, Adrianna Proctor, Jesse Proctor, Paige Proctor, Dylan Proctor, Jack Proctor, Peyton Proctor, Adrian Proctor, Kayonna Proctor, Matthew Proctor, Evelyn Allen, Mia Allen, Asher Lauderdale, and Chandler Lauderdale.
Visitation will be at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna, OK.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Wegofukee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna, OK. with Reverend Paul Maxey officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Della's nephews and serving as honorary pallbearers will be Della's nieces.
