Obituary

David Louis Bloom, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Born on February 4, 1948, in Bay City, Michigan, to Florence (Waterbury) and Gerald Bloom.
David was a man of courage, passion, and adventure, whose life was marked by service, dedication, and a love for the outdoors.

David's early years from the age of 10 years until he was thirty years old and moved to Oklahoma where spent time cultivating a strong work ethic and a sense of duty that would guide him throughout his life. His commitment to service was evident when he enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kittyhawk. His time in the Navy not only showcased his bravery and dedication but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for his country and the freedoms it represents.

After his military service, David embarked on a career in the glass industry. He initially worked at Thatcher Glass in California where he attained his apprenticeship as a moldmaker before transferring to Anchor Glass in 1978. While employed at Anchor Glass he met his future wife, Janice. They would marry in Okmulgee on May 23rd, 1997 at the Okmulgee Country Club. They shared twenty six years as husband and wife, sharing hobbies like photography and woodworking. David also enjoyed cooking, preparing the ingredients for a salad was one of his favorite endeavors.

David's adventurous spirit was not confined to his professional life. He was an avid gun enthusiast, a passion he pursued with the same dedication he brought to his work and service. His love for the outdoors was evident in his interest in archery and kayaking. David found peace and joy in the tranquility of nature, whether he was aiming for a bullseye or paddling down a serene river.

Gardening was another of David's passions. He loved tending to his plants, nurturing them from seedlings into full bloom. His garden was a testament to his patience and care, a vibrant oasis that brought him immense joy.

David is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Earnhart) Bloom, and their cherished daughter, Laura Ann Bloom. of Lake Worth, Florida, He also leaves behind his brother, Gary Bloom and his wife Connie Bloom, of Blatchly, Oregon his sister-in-law Connie Earnhart, of Glenpool, Oklahoma and his sister-in-law Sharyn Cheatham. of Grove, Oklahoma, aunt Barbara Ferrier of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. David's family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His love, guidance, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
