Charles Wayne Koren

Charles Wayne Koren, a resident of Henryetta, passed away at his home on Saturday,
August 22, 2020 in Henryetta, OK at the age of 79 after a two year battle with cancer. He
was born December 2, 1940 in Coalton, OK to Tony Koren & Maggie (Patton) Koren.
Charles married the love of his life, Ijauna, on July 15, 1961 and they shared 59 happy
years together. He loved spending time with his family which included two daughters, five
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Charles was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Okmulgee, OK and cared
deeply for his church family and Fr. Josh.
Charles loved fishing, hunting for coins with his metal detector, painting and tinkering with
small engine equipment that he would find at garage sales. One of his favorite places to be
was Lake Eufaula.​

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Koren.​
​
Charles is survived by his wife, Ijauna Jean Koren of the home,​
daughter, Carolyn Morton & husband Michael, daughter, Diane Pennington & husband
Michael, grandchildren; Michelle Bagwell & husband Bryant, Melissa Brown, Matthew
Morton, Megan Curington & husband Jeremy, and Taya Pennington, great grandchildren;
Adam Brown, Audrey Brown, Jacob Bagwell, and Matilda Bagwell as well as a host of other
relatives and friends.​

Viewing will be from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Integrity Funeral
Service.​
​
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua
Catholic Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.​
​
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua
Catholic Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma with Fr. Josh Litwack officiating. Services are
under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.​
