Betty Jacobs Obituary
Mrs Betty Elouise Jacobs, 96, a resident of Mounds, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, May 15th, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A retired nurses aide, Miss Betty, as she was affectionately known was born June 3rd, 1924 in the Salem Community to Annie and George Tiger.
Some of Betty's favorite things to do was gardening, canning fruit, dipping snuff, holiday meals and birthday dinners as we were growing up and piecing together handmade quilts. Miss Betty was a member of Hickory Grounds #1 Baptist Church her whole life. Her favorite quote was "The good Lord will take care of me"
Miss Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Sam, parents, Annie and George Tiger, son, Reuben Harjo, daughter, Nadine Jacobs, and sons, Frank Jacobs, George Jacobs, Rodney Jacobs, and Homer L. Jacobs, grandsons; George Jacobs Jr, Owen Jacobs and siblings, Mary (Tiger) Jones and Mose Tiger
Miss Betty is survived by her daughter; Irene Jacobs, of the home, grandchildren, Wynona Harjo, Gary (Kim) Harjo, Reuben Harjo Jr, Scotty (Mary) Harjo, Gloria (Joseph) George, Leroy Francisco Jr., Denise Jacobs, Carie (Jeremiah) Hicks, Elaine Jacobs, and Megan Jacobs; ; 25 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren
Family would like to extend a special thank you to Justin Screechowl, great-great-grandson who helped care for Miss Betty durin the last years of her life. He would take photos of her and he knew what foods she liked to eat and would prepare them for her. his care and compassion are great appreciated.
Wake Services are scheduled for 7:00PM Tuesday May 18th, 2021 at Hickory Grounds I Baptist Church.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00PM Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 at Hickory Grounds I Baptist Church with the Reverend Mitchell Taylor officiating
Interment to follow at Jacobs Family Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma
Pallbearers serving are: Brock Hicks, Joseph George, Justin Screechowl, Scotty Harjo, Reuben Harjo Jr., and Russell Jacobs
