Barbara Shirlene Barton a resident of rural Henryetta Oklahoma passed this life on Sunday, August t, 2011 at her home at the age of 76. Barbara was born on July 20, 1935 in Pharaoh, Oklahoma to George Dalton Reddick and Dorothy Bernice (Richardson) Reddick.
Barbara grew up around Henryetta and graduated from Bryant High School where she played basketball. After she graduated from high school she attended business school in Tulsa and then worked as a telephone operator in Okmulgee Oklahoma where she met her husband of 54 years Jerry Barton. They were married on November 5, 1957 in Pharaoh, Oklahoma.
After married Barbara and Jerry lived in several locations including Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Utah, and Wyoming.
Barbara was a house wife for several years before she began working at the bank while in Rankin Texas. She worked as an accountant for Tomahawk Trucking in Vernal Utah. She also worked as church secretary for the Baptist Church in Monahans Texas and also the Quail Valley Baptist Church in Missouri City Texas.
Barbara was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for approximately 20 years holding all of the offices.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, George Dalton "Jenks" and Dorothy Reddick, grandson, Jason Wade Glosser, and son in-law Gary Glosser.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Barton of the home,
Children, Debbie Glosser of Van Buren, Arkansas,
Chris Barton and his wife Tammy of Thornton, Co.
And Dawn Bartlett & husband Richard Bartlett,
Brothers, Dalton Reddick & wife Rose of Eufaula, Oklahoma,
And Roger Reddick & wife Jennifer of Okmulgee, Oklahoma,
As well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 12-8pm on Wednesday and from 8am-8pm on Thursday at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, August 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Lowell Church officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
