Anna Wind Obituary

Anna "Elizabeth" Wind, 72, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed into eternity Sunday, September 26th, 2021 in Henryetta, Oklahoma.

Anna Elizabeth Wind (nee Scott) was born on December 24, 1948, in Talihina, OK, to Benjamin and Mattie Scott (nee Beaver). She spent most of her growing years living at the Eufaula Indian Boarding School while attending Eufaula elementary and junior high schools afterwards, she attended Wetumka High School where she graduated in 1967. In 1968, Anna married Daniel D. Wind Jr. in Sapulpa and began a lifelong marriage which took them to Dallas, TX, for over a decade before they moved the family to Henryetta, OK. From this marriage, three sons were born: Danny, Willie, and JR. Anna spent many years as a homemaker before returning to the workforce as a mail clerk specialist for Oral Roberts University and the ORU Evangelistic Association where she was employed for almost 40 years. In her waning days, her employer, Reverend Richard Roberts, called and prayed for her as he remembered her as a long time, faithful employee.
Away from work, Anna could be found attending her children and grandchildren’s activities, watching courtroom and reality television shows, Hallmark movies, cooking shows, completing puzzles and crossword games, and playing Pac Man. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Yanni music, but really loved listening and singing Mvskoke hymns. One of her favorite Mvskoke hymns was Hesaketvmeset Likes (God Our Creator and Preserver). In addition, Anna loved being around family, especially speaking with everyone and watching the children play games and running around the house. Anna leaves a long legacy of unconditional love, hard work, dedication, advocate for education, and a deep love for her family, friends, and the Church.
Anna Elizabeth Wind was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Ben Scott, Frederick Scott, and Randolph Scott; her sister Amelia Brown; her niece Sheila Scott; and nephew Daryl Tiger. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, of the home and her three sons: Daniel (Danny) Wind III and wife, Elkeena, of Morris; William (Willie) Wind and wife, Emma, of Oklahoma City; and Joshua (JR) Wind and wife, Shauna, of Henryetta. Anna is also survived by her brothers Marsey Scott and special friend Velma Fisk of Wetumka; and James Scott and wife, Mary, of Wetumka; and sister Marilyn Seestedt of Wetumka. Anna has ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces who she loved and adored.
The Reverend Matthew Tiger, First Indian Baptist Church of Okmulgee, will officiate and preside over the funeral and burial services. Rev. Tiger and his wife, Caroline, had a special place in Anna’s heart for them and their entire family. The pallbearers will be composed of her oldest nephew, Jesse Brown; her grandsons Chris Pratt, Anthony Wind, Joey Gracia, and Tehillah Wind; and her oldest great grandson, Antonio Wind. Daniel Wind IV will serve as honorary pallbearer. Yardeka Indian Baptist Church has allowed the family to utilize their deacon, Felix Frye, for the funeral and burial services.
