Aaron Rasmussen Obituary

Aaron Lee Rasmussen, age 68, returned to his Heavenly Father on November 20, 2022. Aaron was born January 23, 1954 in Hays, Kansas to Dick Rasmussen and Alena (Freeman)
Rasmussen. On September 16, 1979, he married Diane (Gibson) Rasmussen in Wilson, Kansas and together they raised two daughters. He later married Dawn (Crone) Rasmussen on May 27, 2009 in Hot Springs, Arkansas and remained married until her passing in 2020. On
August 12, 2022, he married Bobby Sue (Rose) Rasmussen in Eufaula, Oklahoma.

Aaron grew up in Plainville and Wilson Kansas. While attending school in Wilson, he played trumpet in the school band, often competing back and forth for first chair position with his buddy, Bruce Benyshek. He is a 1972 graduate of Wilson High School. He enjoyed traveling home for
class reunions and was very excited about his 50th he just attended this past May. He attended Fort Hays State University, majoring in music, and especially enjoyed participating in the university’s marching band.

Aaron was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on September 12, 1981 in Hays, Kansas. He remained an active member until his passing, serving in numerous callings with the youth, the Elders Quorum, and as a counselor in a Bishopric. Aaron loved studying about church history, reading biographies of prophets and apostles, and studying the words of Heavenly Father in the scriptures. He had an extensive personal library and spent hours on eBay and other websites to acquire special and rare religious books. He loved learning about his family’s history and ancestors. He spent many hours researching records to fill in his family tree. Aaron worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansas as a facilities maintenance worker. He took pride in the appearance of the church lawns and treated each meeting house he was assigned to take care of as a house of the Lord and enjoyed making them look beautiful for those coming to worship.
