Wanda Lois Vance Wilber was born July 16, 1932, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to William Jack Vance and Minnie Vance. She left this life for her heavenly home on November 14, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A life well lived by a beautiful person, inside and out. Wanda touched the lives of everyone who knew her - always there to extend a hand and a prayer. Her life was a true testimony for God and an example of what we each should strive to achieve.
Family was everything to Wanda. She loved making each family member happy and make them feel they were the most important person in the world. She was most famous for her cooking and she loved to cook! From her hot rolls, to her delicious pies she couldn't wait to get to the kitchen and turn out a dish to share. When she found out what particular item you enjoyed, you would find yourself with a jar of salsa or chow-chow, a coconut cream pie or even a bag of her hot peppers from the garden. She was the heart and soul of her family.
A proud woman of faith, she never strayed from her devotion to God. In her final days, she would say, "I'm going to have a talk with Jesus, and tell Him I'm ready when my time has come." She loved her church family and one of her biggest regrets, after moving to Broken Arrow, was not being able to attend church service with her Apostolic House of Prayer family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Minnie Vance; her beloved son, Douglas Brown; sisters Katy Aileen Vance, Maxine Vance and Mae Pulley; brothers Jack Vance and Joe Vance; and niece Carmen Vance Spink.
She is survived by her brother, Don Vance; daughter, Judy Langwell and son-in-law Tom; grandchildren Angela Byars (Chris), David Brown (Paige), Jennifer Robinson, Allison Lloyd (Christian); Jordan Brown (Jordan Brooke); great grandchildren, Eric Byars (Abby), Rhianna Langwell, Lily Rockett (Wyatt), Riley Robinson, Parker Lloyd and Jaycie Lloyd; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
