Thomas Ray McDonald, 78,a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, a beloved husband, father, grandfather great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully Monday, June 14th, 2025 at his home in Henryetta. Tom was born November 10th, 1946 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Layla Faye (Odom) and Claude McDonald.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Claude "Ossie" McDonald and sister Connie McDonald.
Tom, a member of the Henryetta Church of Christ, Tom had a deep and abiding love for the Lord. He found great joy and peace in reading the Bible. Tom had a passion for the outdoors. he especially loved fishing in the Deep Fork River where he found both relaxation and connection with nature. He also cherished camping trips with his wife Vickie-time they spent together was held dear, their love was special. Tom adored his wife and being with her was one of his greatest joys.
Tom was a gifted and creative carpenter, known for building everything from patios to special items his family needed. Tom had a knack for fixing things and a heart for helping others. His hands built more than wood structures-they built memories, comfort and love.
Tom was known for his warm heart and contagious laughter. He had a special way of making people smile and took genuine joy in lifting others up. He loved everyone he met and made sure they felt that love. Above all, Tom treasured his family, he had a deep and enduring love for them and was happiest when surrounded by them.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Vickie (McGill) McDonald, daughter Dana Witt. grandsons, Colton Witt and his wife Alyssa, Garett Witt, granddaughter, Kassie Schimkaitis and husband Jonathan, great-grandchildren Colton Will Jr., Eleanor Schimkaitis Neil Schimkaiatis, sisters Berta Effinger and Debbie Mcdonald, brothers, Bill McDonald and Robbie McDonald and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Tom's faith was a guiding light throughout his life. For those who loved him, the assurance that Tom knew where he was going brings deep comfort in this time of loss.
