Obituary

Shawn Dean Holuby was born on January 21, 1971, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Sandy Joe Holuby and Linda Gail (Bullard) Dick. He passed away in Longview, Texas, on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Shawn spent his childhood in Dustin, Oklahoma, where he attended elementary and high school. He often reminisced about growing up there, speaking fondly of the special moments he experienced and the long-lasting friendships he formed. Those memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

After graduating high school, Shawn moved to Longview, Texas, where he began a long and dedicated career as a truck driver. He enjoyed sharing stories from his travels and talking about the many people he met in different places. His time on the road gave him a deep appreciation for the connections he made and the experiences he gathered along the way.

Shawn was an exceptionally talented and creative person. He taught himself to play both the guitar and harmonica, and he loved singing Elvis Presley songs. He was also a skilled carpenter who could build nearly anything he set his mind to, always taking pride in the work he created with his hands.

More than anything, Shawn cherished his children-Amy Jo Holuby, Hannah LeAnn Holuby, Shawn Wayne Holuby, and Allen O'Bryan Holuby. The bond he shared with them was one of the greatest joys of his life. He loved watching them grow, encouraging their imaginations, and teaching them to express themselves through art and music. Whether he was showing them how to draw, helping them build something, or simply spending time together. Shawn made sure they knew how deeply he loved them. His children were the greatest joy of his life, and the lessons, laughter, and love they shared will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Shawn is survived by his parents, Sandy Joe Holuby and Linda Gail (Bullard) Dick and husband Dennis; his brothers Monty Joe Holuby Sr., Shane Gene Holuby and wife Audria, Erick Starr, Gregory Holuby and wife Alisa, Christopher Holuby and Angela (Gill) Holuby, the mother of his four beautiful children and a cherished friend he loved deeply. Shawn leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Ramses Josiah Dean Toliver, Solomon (Solo) Kipp Orion Toliver, and baby girl Zariyah Kami LeAnn Toliver.

He is also survived by his wife Gina Brunner.

Shawn is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marion and Jaunita Bullard, and his paternal grandparents, Sandy Olen Holuby and Sally Holuby. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.
