Our beloved mother, Sara "Sally" Ann Lysinger, 87, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Sally was born on April 18, 1939, in Hartford City, Indiana. She was the daughter of Milburn and Mary Schultz. She married her forever love, James Lysinger, on December 18, 1955, and they were married for sixty-four years before his passing.
Sally earned her nursing degree from Ball State University and spent her entire career in the healthcare industry as a nurse and healthcare administrator. In addition, she also taught classes for expectant mothers and trained emergency service technicians in Blackford County for many years. Throughout her career, she was recognized many times for her outstanding leadership.
Sally was a devout Christian who enjoyed fellowship with her Bible study groups, teaching Sunday school classes, and leading small groups. She was an avid reader, loved to play games, and talk politics over a hot cup of coffee. She loved her friends dearly and treasured her time spent visiting over lunch and small trips together. Her greatest joy and source of pride came from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children, Ann (Mike) Gavin of Henryetta, Oklahoma; Angela (Jose) Schwarzkopf Li Donni of Hobe Sound, Florida; Alyssa Shields of Holdenville, Oklahoma; Amy Hufford of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and James (Jamie Sue) Lysinger of Wetumka, Oklahoma; one brother, Robert (Sue) Schultz of Hartford City, Indiana; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lysinger; her daughter, Rose Marie; her foster son, Andrew Hines; her sons-in-law, Dennis Schwarzkopf and William Hufford; one grandson, Nicholas Schwarzkopf; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Gavin and Sarah Gavin.
Services will be held in Henryetta, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service. Sally will return to her hometown of Hartford City, Indiana, followed by a second service at Keplinger Funeral Home at a later date that will be posted as soon as the information is available. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ann Gavin, Mike Gavin, Angela Schwarzkopf Li Donni, Jose Li Donni, Alyssa Shields, Amy Hufford, James Lysinger, and Daniel Schwarzkopf.
