Richard Lee Frederick

March 29, 1951 — August 11, 2023

Richard Lee Frederick, a loving, funny, and faith-filled man, and longtime resident of the Schulter, Oklahoma community, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on March 29, 1951, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Beulah May (Butts) Frederick and Wendell Connor Frederick. Richard was a pillar of strength and a beacon of joy to all who knew him.

Richard graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1969 and furthered his education at Okmulgee Technical School. He married Bonita Ennis on August 24, 1973 in Okmulgee. His commitment was a testament to his character. He was a dedicated worker, as a plumber for Walters Plumbing, a worker at OKC Refinery and a Service Technician for the Oklahoma Natural Gas company until his retirement on April 1, 2011. His colleagues remember him as a reliable and hardworking individual. Richard was a long time faithful member of the Grovania Free Will Baptist Church in Okmulgee where he served for many years as Sunday School Superintendent.

Richard was an avid hunter, a pastime that allowed him to enjoy nature. His love for the outdoors was often shared with family and friends on their adventures. In his retired years he counted down the days for his next cruise or family vacation.

Richard's life was marked by his love for his family, his friends and his faith. He was a man who will be remembered for his humor and whose faith was unwavering, even in the face of adversity. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather. His legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Frederick, and a brother, Jimmy Frederick.
