Patricia Jean Yates

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Patricia Jean Yates, who left this world on April 28, 2026, at the age of 85. She is survived by her two children, Curtis Yates Jr. and Kimberly Payne and husband John; five grandchildren, David, Amanda, Jeremy, Katherine, and Emilie; and two great-grandchildren, Finn and Rowan.

Patricia was born on July 3, 1940, and was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ray Yates Sr. and her parents, William and Frieda.

After graduating from St. Michael’s Catholic School in Henryetta, OK, she went on to attend college and earned a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education from East Central University, and a Reading Specialist Certification from the University of Oklahoma. Patricia was a dedicated and hardworking teacher for over 25 years. She taught lower elementary grades and later became an elementary school reading specialist.

In a wonderful story of lifelong love, Patricia met Curtis Yates Sr., and the two high school sweethearts were married in1965. They built a beautiful life together. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Patricia was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic church. She loved her pets, having several dogs in the years that she lived on her acreage.

After her husband’s passing, Patricia moved to assisted living, where she treasured the residents and staff who made her smile daily and enjoyed games of Bingo.

Patricia’s warm smile and gentle nature will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Viewing will be at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta, OK on May 4th from 9 am to noon.

Her graveside service will be officiated by Father Robert Duck May 4th at 1pm at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma
