Opal J. Smith

Opal Jane Smith, a loving and kind soul, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Born on January 7, 1953, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to Margrette (Fish) and Charles Wright, Opal was a beacon of warmth and compassion throughout her life.

Opal was a dedicated and hardworking woman who devoted many years of her life to the medical field as a Nurse Aid. Her thoughtful nature and caring spirit made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and patients alike. Her work was more than just a job; it was a testament to her innate desire to help and care for others.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Margrette and Charles Wright, her brothers, James and Kenneth, her sisters, Mary and Cathy Jo, and her great-grandson, Zachary Mahan. Despite these losses, Opal remained a pillar of strength and resilience, always putting the needs of her family before her own.

Opal's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Sherry Pair and her husband Lonnie of Henryetta, Oklahoma, and Charlene Riley of Weleetka, Oklahoma. Opal's love extended to her siblings, Rose Marshall of Wetumka, Oklahoma, Charles Wright and his wife Kaye of Dustin, Oklahoma, Margie Swindell of Dustin, Oklahoma, Ed Wright and his wife Debbie of Dustin, Oklahoma, and Eddie Wright of Lexington, Oklahoma.

Opal was a cherished grandmother to Eric, Lauren, Michael, Ashlyn, Dusty, Briana, Bradley, and Riley Daniella. She also held a special place in her heart for her great-grandchildren, Matthew, Adelynn, Kyleigh, Braelynn, Abigail, Kynlee, Kamdyn, Addison, and Elizabeth. Opal's love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Viewing and visitation with family present will be from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October, 24, 2023 at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon Street, Henryetta, Oklahoma 74437.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
