Michael Alan Norman

April 2, 1960 — December 18, 2025

Michael Norman, a man that loved adventure, set out for the greatest adventure of all on December 18, 2025 when he left this physical world and entered the glorious spiritual world of our loving Heavenly Father.

Born on April 2nd ,1960, in Monrovia, California, Mike was on the move, full of energy, and ready to take on life from the day he was born. As a young boy he played all types of sports and as he grew he often led his football and baseball teams to sweeping victories. When he wasn't involved in sports, he spent countless hours outdoors with his cousins and friends, hiking, camping fishing and riding their bikes to wherever their adventures would take them. Later he learned to snow ski, to surf and even raced dirt bikes in the desert. But it was when he moved to Oklahoma that his true passion flourished, and that passion was bass fishing. He became so accomplished at it, that in 2014 he placed first in the Lawter and Pitts Bass Competition beating out a long roster of seasoned anglers, along with his nephew, Nathan Smith, who was more like a son to him than a nephew.

But sports and the outdoors and fishing weren't the only adventures Mike enjoyed. He loved the adventure of being a dad to his precious daughter, Chelsea, and could make a bottle and change a diaper along with the best of them. He and Chelsea, along with his wife Karen also loved to travel, visiting almost all 50 states, cruising to Mexico and even flying to Japan. Their lives were so much richer and exciting because of Mike, not only because of the sense of wonder he instilled in them, but for the love and patience and protection he always provided for them. They will be lost without him for some time to come but comforted knowing he's having the time of his life now catching up with the people he loved who went on before him. People like his big sister Susie Divine and son Mikey, his namesake, who passed in tragic car accident when Mike was a teen. He missed them every day of his life. He's also being loved on and welcomed by his dear and strong mother, Barbara Gray, his stepfather Bill Gray, another sweet younger sister, Kathy Gray, and another cherished nephew, Jason Gray, along with his talented guitarist dad Kenneth Norman, and one of those cousins he spend hours with on outdoor adventures, Bert Cole.

Those he left behind other than wife Karen, daughter Chelsea and special nephew Nathan Smith, include his older brother Joe Norman, the rock of the family who he looked up to so much, younger brother Steve Norman, who he was so proud of, and cherished younger sisters Karen Barlow, Lori Wieder and Jamie Westbrook. His other nephews include James Norman (another treasured and talented fishing buddy), Brady Norman, Justin Gray, Aaron Smith, Luke Wieder, and Cody Kellogg, as for nieces he leaves behind, Jennifer Gray, Emily Weider, and Julie, Susan and Kelsey Westbrook, and Jenna Kellogg. And of course there are those treasured bike riding, camping hiking fishing buddy cousins, Robert and Dennis Cole along with many other family and friends who may not be mentioned by name, who were very loved by Mike and know who they are.

So until we see you again dear Mike, know that you will be loved and missed every day. . Thank you for making all our lives richer and bigger and more full of love. You were and are an amazing generous, kind, smart and extraordinary man. No one can ever take your place.
