Linda McReynolds Mathews, a longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Bartlesville at the age of 82. She was surrounded by love in her final moments, with her devoted partner, Dan Martin, her sisters, and her cherished cat, Buster, at her side. Linda was born on July 27, 1943, in Bartlesville to Leo McReynolds and Odie (Thompson) McReynolds.
A proud graduate of Bartlesville College High School, Linda lived a life rooted in curiosity, compassion, and conviction. She was a passionate lover of the arts, a dedicated political activist, and a steadfast advocate for others. Linda held a deep and meaningful connection to B'Nai Emanuah Synagogue and was actively involved in the Bartlesville Women's Network, where she played an instrumental role in the creation and growth of Tap Roots publications.
Linda is survived by her partner, Dan Martin of the home; her son, Rhett Mathews; her grandsons, Jakob Mathews, Eliot Mathews, Theadore Finn, and Felix Finn; her sisters, Leila Shultz, Lorraine McReynolds, and Lucy Clark; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at New Sonora Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma, with Rabbi Fitzerman officiating. Services are entrusted to the care and direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
