Karen L. Ratley-Vance, 81, of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025. Born on September 10, 1944, in Henryetta, to Earl and Hazel Ratley, Karen lived a life of love, faith, and cherished friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Hazel Ratley, her older sister, Catherine David, and her oldest child, daughter Carmen. Karen graduated from Henryetta High School, where she took immense pride in performing with the high school band at President John F. Kennedy's inauguration, a memory she held dear throughout her life.
For many years, Karen worked at Anchor Glass in Henryetta, where she made enduring friendships that lasted throughout her life. Guided by one of her favorite sayings, "To have a friend, you have to be a friend," Karen's friendship will be missed by many. A woman of deep faith, she was an active member of the Tabernacle of Praise in Henryetta, where she found spiritual strength and community.
Karen is survived by her older brother, Rev. Ronald "Butch" Ratley, and his wife, Beverly, her younger sister, Renae Allen, and her husband, Richard; her three children: daughter Mary Ann and sons Patrick and Travis; and she was also a proud and loving grandmother to granddaughters Sara, Rachel, Hanna, and Sophia, all of whom loved her dearly.
Karen's resolve and courage in facing and overcoming countless health challenges will forever inspire and be cherished by her family and friends that she leaves behind
A memorial service will be held at the Integrity Funeral Service chapel on Tuesday, September 23, at 11 am.
