Judy Gale (Austin) Taber

May 20, 1943 — December 11, 2023

Judy Gale Taber, a cherished matriarch and beloved member of the Dewar community, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2023, in Dewar, Oklahoma. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 20, 1943, Judy's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and service, woven into the hearts of those she touched.

Judy's journey began as the daughter of L. B. and Lorene Austin, whose legacy she carried with grace throughout her life. A proud graduate of Dewar High School, Judy's commitment to her roots was evident in her lifelong membership at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church, where she nurtured her faith and kinship with her community.

Her professional path was marked by a loyal 26-year tenure at Anchor Glass Company in Henryetta, where Judy's work ethic and camaraderie left an indelible mark. Retirement did not dim her industrious spirit, as she continued to pour her energy into the lives of her family and friends.

Family was the cornerstone of Judy's world. Her enduring love story with her husband, Jerry, was the foundation upon which they built a vibrant life together in their cherished home. Judy's legacy is lovingly carried on by her children, Cindy Watson of Dewar, Steven Austin Fowler & wife, Deanna of Bixby, and Cass Taber of Claremore. The joy of her life was further multiplied by her seven grandchildren, Kyle Posey, Travis Posey, Zack Fowler, Eli Fowler, Alison Watson, Roderick Fowler, & Callie Taber. Also her five great-grandchildren, Nathan Powders, Edison Posey, Avalee Posey, Weston Posey, & Lucas Posey, each of whom she adored with every fiber of her being.

Her sister, Charla Smith of Dewar, shares in the family's legacy, as do a host of friends and other relatives who found in Judy an unwavering source of friendship, wisdom, and warmth. Her presence was a comfort and her counsel, a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Judy's love for her family knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself to creating a home filled with laughter, learning, and love. Her children and grandchildren were the recipients of her boundless affection and support, and they will carry forward the traditions and values she instilled in them.

In life, Judy was a beacon of strength and kindness. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit remains undiminished in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by her parents, L. B. and Lorene Austin, and her son, Doug Fowler, who have welcomed her into eternal rest.

Judy Gale Taber's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived and the enduring power of love. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared with her and the certainty that her legacy will continue to inspire us for generations to come.

In the quiet corners of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church, amidst the clinking glasses at Anchor Glass Company, and in the laughter of her children and grandchildren, Judy's memory will forever be cherished. Her life was a gift, her memory a treasure, and her love a lasting imprint on the world.
