Jean Ann Allee

Jean Ann Allee, a loving, kind, and courageous woman, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Born on February 16, 1939, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

She married Richard Kenneth Allee on February 1, 1963, at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allee, and her parents, James and Kathryn Cortassa.

Jean is survived by her companion of 30 years, Ed Martens of Midwest City; a son, Dr. Mark Allee and Doug Patton of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Jake Richard Allee and wife Allison, Samuel James Allee; and a sister, Brenda Lindsay and husband Glen. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Jean's professional life was marked by her dedication to service and her unwavering commitment to helping others. She began her career as a registered nurse with the United States Air Force, where she proudly served as a First Lieutenant. After retiring from the military, Jean continued her nursing career at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues throughout her distinguished career.

In addition to her work as a nurse, Jean had a strong relationship with God and spiritual connection within the Catholic Church. She diligently and lovingly prayed for many people on a daily basis. May her prayers and spirit continue to watch over us now. Jean was an active member of several parishes, including both St Paul the Apostle in Del City and St Phillip Neri in Midwest City. Her leadership and commitment to service made a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Jean's loving nature and courage were evident in all aspects of her life. She faced every challenge with grace and determination, inspiring those around her to do the same. For the last 34 years of her life she was a friend of Bill W. In her recovery she touched many lives through her service and participation in AA. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Jean's life was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of the human spirit.

Jean's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and courage will continue to inspire future generations.

May Jean Ann Allee rest in peace, knowing that her life was filled with purpose, love, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Allee, Sam Allee, Jeff Martens, Chris Martens, Louis Kelch, and William Kelch.

Mass of Resurrection will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church 1107 Felix Place, Midwest City, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
