Gary Gethon Bardin, a cherished soul and lifelong resident of the Dewar area, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Born on June 24, 1962, Gary's life was one of unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and the natural world he so deeply admired.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Carol, with whom he shared a beautiful life after they united in marriage on July 15, 2005, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. His mother, Wanda Bardin of Dewar, fondly remembers him as a devoted son. His sisters, Gayla Ledbetter and husband Chris of Morris, and Gina Scott and husband Larry of Kingston, Oklahoma, along with his brother, Gerald Bardin and wife Jennifer of Henryetta, will forever hold dear the memories of their brother's kind heart and generous spirit.
Gary's legacy continues through his adoring children. His daughter Tania Bardin of Morris, and Brittany Roberds of Okmulgee, along with his son Wesley Bardin and his fiancée, Andrea Watson, will carry forward the lessons of love and integrity he instilled in them. His grandchildren, Harper and Coraline Roberds, Everly Roberds, Wyatt Bardin, and Greyson Bardin, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
Gary is also survived by his in-laws, William Dieterle and wife Norma, Daryl Dieterle and wife Cathy, Cheryle Gardner, Al Dierterle & wife Becky, Mary Rahm & husband John, Donna Robbin & husband Gary, Helen Kappmeyer, & husband Frank, & Julia Kashou & husband Charley.
A proud graduate of Dewar Public Schools, Gary's commitment to his community was evident in all his endeavors. He was a beacon of strength and support for his family and friends, and his presence will be sorely missed by the countless lives he touched.
Gary's passion for the outdoors was matched only by his devotion to his family and his unwavering faith. His interests were a true reflection of his character-simple, pure, and rooted in the beauty of creation and the joy of togetherness. As a faithful member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church, he found solace and strength in his beliefs, which guided him throughout his life and provided comfort to those around him.
The Bardin family will forever remember Gary as a man of immense love and kindness. His gentle guidance, warm smile, and ability to find joy in the smallest of life's wonders will continue to inspire all who knew him. Gary's unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his community has left an indelible mark that will not be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his father, Glen Bardin, a sister Glenda Bardin, his paternal grandparents, Virgil and Nona Bardin and his maternal grandparents, T.T. and Mary Dickey. His Father in-law & Mother-in-law, Al & Mary Dieterle, a sister-in-law, Kathy Dieterle.
As the sun sets on Gary's time with us, we are reminded of the natural cycles he so loved to observe. Though he has departed from this earthly realm, his spirit remains a guiding light in the lives of his family, a reminder of the beauty and resilience of nature, and the enduring power of love.
In honoring Gary's life, we celebrate not only the moments we shared but also the profound impact he had on each of us. His story is one of true commitment-to his roots, his family, and his faith. It is a tale woven with threads of joy, compassion, and an unwavering zest for life.
We bid farewell to Gary, a man whose life was as rich and vibrant as the Oklahoma skies under which he was born and passed. His journey on this earth was one of purpose and passion, and while his physical presence is no longer with us, the essence of who he was will forever grace the memories of those he loved. Gary's family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, surrounded by the natural splendor he so cherished, and watching over us with the same tender care he exhibited in life. His was a life well-lived, and his spirit will continue to thrive in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Viewing for Gary will be 6 pm until 8 pm Thursday evening at Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be, Brent Rich, Al Dieterle, Chad Ledbetter, Blake Bardin, Travis Buoy, & Chase Foutch. Honorary pallbearers will be, William Dieterle, Daryl Dieterle, Zachary Stanley, Zane Stanley, Cayden Ledbetter, & Andy Smith.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 8,2023 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
