Dortha Mae Threet

Apr 8, 1944 — Oct 8, 2026

Dortha Mae Threet, 82, of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, October 8th, 2026 in Henryetta at the age of 82.

Born on April 8, 1944, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Jesse and Essie Cox, Dorotha grew up surrounded by a large family. She spent many years in Checotah, Oklahoma, where she raised her children and built her home.

Dortha was a homemaker at heart and a person of deep faith who was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She was naturally creative and had a real gift for seeing potential in things others might pass by, often taking almost anything and turning it into something beautiful. That creativity showed up everywhere: in her paintings and drawings, her home decorating, and especially in her garden, which was easily one of the prettiest in town. In the 1980s, she turned her love for antiquing and "junking" into a small antique shop, where she loved hunting for hidden treasures.

More than anything, Dortha loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Cleon Threet; three sisters; and five brothers.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Slape of Oktaha, OK; her children, Tami Frost of Henryetta, OK, Jody Threet and his wife Shelly of Canby, OR, and Cristi Threet and her husband Clint Morrow of Henryetta, OK; her grandsons, Blake Frost and his wife Kimberly of Checotah, OK, Alex Threet and his wife Madeline Delaplane of Tigard, OR, and Chris Luce of Norman, OK; her great-grandsons, Blaine and Braxton of Nuyaka, OK, and their mother, Christy Hall; and a big family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who all loved their "Aunt Dorotha."
