Dorothy Jean Fry, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away June 30, 2023. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born July 26, 1951, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Myrtle Jewel (Hollins) and Bill Brown
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over forty years, John Fry, daughter Sheila (Fry) Smith, parents Myrtle, and Bill Brown, mother-in-law Martha Fry and siblings Betty, Liz, Johnny, Melvin, Billy, Rusty, and Iva.
Dorothy attended high school in her hometown. Following her education, she found a fulfilling career as a vendor with Aramark Company, where she served her clients with dedication and charm. Not only did Dorothy excel in her profession, demonstrating creativity and friendliness, but she also thrived within her family life, imbuing it with her welcoming and loving spirit.
Dorothy enjoyed a life filled with varied interests, raising her three children and spending quality time with them as they matured. She had a unique zest for simple pleasures, relishing the early morning ritual of breakfast at the casino whilst playing games with daughters: Janetta and Cindy. Dorothy was also fond of keeping her hands busy. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and coloring adult coloring books.
But it was known, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her daughters, Janetta and husband Robert Burton of Claremore, Oklahoma and Cynthia Grant and husband Tim of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Her legacy will continue through her grandson, John Grant and wife Kali of Bryan, Texas, their children Lilly, Violet and John Henry Grant, and her daughter Sheila Smith's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was also survived by her siblings Ann Owens of Dewar, Oklahoma, Debbie Gourley of Henryetta, Oklahoma and James David Brown of Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Known for her friendly demeanor, boundless love, and creative spirit, Dorothy's legacy will serve as a beacon of love and kindness to those left behind. We will remember her not merely for her accomplishments but for the bright light, she cast in our lives.
