David Eric Folenius

David Eric Folenius, 50, slipped into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by his loving family on February 22, 2023 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. David was a man of faith who devoted his life to singing and telling people about the Jesus he was so ready to meet, face to face. David was born July 31, 1972 to Robert and Sue Folenius in Cincinnati, OH. At a very young age it was apparent God had placed a calling on David's life. David traveled and sang with many gospel groups including Stedfast, the Stamps Quartet, The Williamsons, Master's Voice and most recently his family group, Folenius. When David wasn't on stage singing and preaching the gospel, you could find him on a golf course enjoying time with his friends, in a barber shop, or playing video games with his kids. As much as David loved being on stage and spending time of fellowship with friends, his love and devotion for his family was undeniable.

David is survived by his loving wife; Lisa. Together, they had a blended family of survivors including children; Hannah Schnelle, Josh Folenius, Caleb Folenius, Ashley Folenius, Saul Folenius, Ashlee Clifton and Austin Wasson, grandchildren; Gianna, Mason, Brady and Ella, his father; Robert "Bobby" Folenius, brother Steven (Diana) Folenius, many other close relatives, ministry partners he shared the stage with and a multitude of other loving friends.

David is preceded in death by his mother; Sue Folenius, maternal grandparents; Jessie Lee Gault and Roussia Gault and paternal grandparents; Robert and Ora Mae Folenius.

When David realized his healing was not going to be on this Earth he spent his last hours telling his family and friends just how much they meant to him, and singing and praising his Saviour right there from his ICU hospital bed. His love for his family and strong faith was apparent til the very end.

Visitation will be Monday, February 27th at Integrity Funeral Service, Henryetta, OK from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 28th at First Baptist Church, Henryetta, OK at 10:00 AM. Graveside Burial Service will be Wednesday, March 1st at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield, MO. The funeral will be live streamed on the Folenius Facebook page.
