Daniel Ray Buchanan

Daniel Ray Buchanan, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away on May 16, 2026, at the age of 44. He was born on January 6, 1982, in Talihina, Oklahoma, and attended school in Soper, Oklahoma.

Daniel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He shared a loving life with his wife, Shannon D. Buchanan, and treasured every moment spent with his children, Nacona Buchanan and Aidan Hamm.

For more than twenty years, Daniel dedicated his life to driving semi-trucks before recently turning his focus toward diesel mechanics and roadside repair service. He had a natural talent for working on anything with a motor, whether big or small, and could often be found tinkering with engines or repurposing odds and ends into something useful once again.

Above all else, Daniel loved his family. He was kind, patient, and determined to pass along his knowledge and skills to his children. He took great pride in being a good brother and loved each of his siblings dearly. An old soul with a calm and steady nature, Daniel found joy in the simple things in life - fishing, spending time in the woods, and being surrounded by those he loved most.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Nicky Buchanan; and his father-in-law, Robert Patterson.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon Buchanan of Henryetta, Oklahoma; daughter, Nacona Buchanan of Henryetta, Oklahoma; son, Aidan Hamm and fiancée Courtney Doolittle of Texanna, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Wrenley Hamm of Texanna, Oklahoma; mother, Regina Jackson of Clayton, Oklahoma; brothers, Greg Buchanan of Clayton, Oklahoma, Jimmy Buchanan and wife Heather Buchanan of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Matt Tyler of Clayton, Oklahoma, Gary Dunham of Clayton, Oklahoma, Aaron Jackson of Clayton, Oklahoma, and Dillion Jackson of Clayton, Oklahoma; sister, Gina Davis of Paris, Texas; mother-in-law, Joyce Patterson of Schulter, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Tony Patterson and Joe Patterson, both of Schulter, Oklahoma; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whom he loved dearly.

Daniel's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 PM on Monday, May 25, 2026 at Integrity Funeral Service.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Dewar First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Council Hill Cemetery.
