Carolyn Sue Cook

Carolyn Sue (Burleson) Cook, 81, a resident of Granbury, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home in Granbury, Texas. Sue was born May 29th, 1944 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Myrtle Lorene (Pendley) and Guy Burleson.

Sue is preceded in death by son Todd Lee Cook, parents, Lorene and Guy Burleson, brother Don Burleson, sisters, Loretta Burleson and Patsy Burleson.

Sue passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, warmth, and quiet strength. A lifelong advocate for education, she proudly earned her Master's degree from Oklahoma State University in 1983 and achieved her CPA shortly after. She devoted over four decades to higher education in Oklahoma, where her hard work and integrity left a lasting impact on the institutions and students she served. Sue believed deeply in the value of learning, and her career reflected both her intellect and her unshakable work ethic.

Beyond her professional life, Sue was a devoted wife to her husband, Bob, of 59 years, a loving mother to three children, and a cherished grandmother to seven. She found joy in simple, beautiful things-her flower beds, carefully tended, burst into color each spring, just as she liked them. But perhaps most telling of her gentle spirit was her favorite seat in the house: the kids' table, where she shared laughter, stories, and her boundless love with the youngest members of her family. Sue's presence brought comfort and joy, and her memory will continue to bloom in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Sue's memory are her husband, Robert W. Cook, of the home, her daughters, Tonia Britton and husband Britt, of Colleyville, Texas, Teresa Wood and her husband Albin of Granbury, Texas. Carolyn's grandchildren Trey Britton, Bob Britton, Charlie Britton and Jack Britton, all of Colleyville, Texas, Katie Wood, Gillian Wood and Trip Wood, all of Granbury, Texas. Siblings Linda Guerster of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Ronnie Burleson of Hanna, Oklahoma and Shirley Holly of Norman, Oklahoma.

Those serving as Pallbearers: Bob Britton, Charlie Britton, Jack Britton, Trip Wood, Brian Campbell, Wayne Guevara and Trey Britton as Honorary Pallbearer.

Viewing and Visitation is scheduled for 4:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursday, July 31st, 2025 at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 E. Trudgeon St., Henryetta, Oklahoma, 918-652-6600

Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:00AM, Friday, August 1st, 2025 at the Church of The Nazarene, 718 W. Trudgeon St., Henryetta, Oklahoma.

Interment to follow at Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, Oklahoma.
