Arthur James Popp

April 22, 1948 — June 4, 2021

Arthur "Jim" Popp entered heaven on June 4, 2021 in Okemah, Oklahoma. He was born on April 22, 1948 to Arthur and Ida Popp in Mansfield, Ohio.

Jim married Patty Light on August 16, 1969 in Tulare, California. They later moved to Oregon and had two daughters. Because of his job they moved to Washington for 4 years and then back to Oregon. Jim began working as a mechanic before retiring in 2003. Jim and Patty moved to Oklahoma after buying property there which he called "Heaven on Earth".

Jim loved the outdoors. He was always fishing as much as he could. He loved camping and took his family to Crooked River every year where many endearing memories were made. Jim gave everybody a nickname and there was rarely anyone close to him that didn't have one. He was a quiet man but had a great sense of humor. He was very hardworking and could fix anything. Jim was a very loyal friend and was willing to help anyone he could. He was also very giving. He loved the Lord and his family. He loved music and taught himself how to play the guitar. Jim was loved by many people throughout his 73 years and will be dearly missed. But thoughts of him fishing those golden ponds in heaven is our comfort.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and nephew Daniel Popp.

Jim is survived by his wife of the home; daughters Carrie Eblen of Weleetka, OK and Christine (Ryan) Hill of Albany, OR. Grandchildren: Ruth Ayers of Corvallis, OR; Lael Ayers, Sam Ayers, and David Ayers of Albany, OR; Jordan Eblen and Grace Eblen of Weleetka, OK. Siblings: Kathy (Mike) Stark of Lake Oswego, OR; Roger (Terry) Popp of Moscow, ID; Renee Beulow of Arivaca, AZ; also a nephew and numerous nieces.
