Geary Lee Lane

Geary was born, January 23, 1954 in Henryetta, OK, to Teddy and Helen Lane. He graduated as a Henryetta Hen in 1972 and joined the U.S. Navy immediately following graduation. He spent his 20 year military career as an Aviations Electrician and served on multiple aircraft carriers. In 1985, he and The Training Squadron Twenty Five, were awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation from the Secretary of the Navy for the service in execution of training highly qualified, Advanced Jet Strike Student Pilots for both the United States Navy and Marine Corp from July 1983 to June 1985. In competition with other Naval Air Squadrons, The "VT- 25" achieved major milestones, completing over three and a half years and 48,000 accident-free flight hours. Geary finished his remaining years of service to the Navy as Lead Electrician at the elite, Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego, California.

Geary is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Patton and father Teddy Lane.

He is survived by his son, Stefan Lane of Henryetta. Grandsons, Quentin Lane and Mason Lane, also of Henryetta. Brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Debbie Lane of Dewar; Step brother, Billy Morris of Henryetta; Nieces and nephews, Trina and Brian Taylor of Dewar, Tobie and Curtis King of Dewar and Teddy Lane also of Dewar;. One aunt, Mary Robertson of Henryetta; and one uncle, Howard Patton of San Antonio, TX., along with a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service for Geary has been set for Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00pm at Integrity Chapel with Kyle Doke officiating. Friends may leave condolence messages for the family at www.integrityfuneralservice.com

Honorary pallbearers will be Quentin Lane, Mason Lane, Colt Taylor, Teddy Lane, Brian Taylor, and Curtis King.
