Avery Nathaniel Blocker, a loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2023, in Beggs, Oklahoma. Born on August 3, 1959, in Andalusia, Alabama, to Willie Frankie (Blocker) and Don Luschen. Avery was known for his intelligence, loving nature, and handy skills.
Avery proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an AMP Mechanic. His dedication and hard work were evident in his service, and he was well-respected by his peers and superiors. After his time in the Navy, Avery continued to apply his mechanical skills in various capacities, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need.
On May 18, 1984, Avery married the love of his life, Marla Schultz, in Loveland, Colorado. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three wonderful children. Avery was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first and ensuring they were well taken care of. He was a pillar of strength and support for his loved ones, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Avery was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marla; his parents; his son, David Blocker, and his sister, Cindy Reeves.
Avery is survived by his daughter, Leanne Underwood and her husband Nathan of Beggs, Oklahoma; his son, Joseph Blocker and fiancé Travis Davis of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; and his son, Michael Blocker and wife Dana of Beggs, Oklahoma. He was also a proud grandfather to Nicholas Blocker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Averie Blocker of Beggs, Oklahoma; and Allison Blocker of Beggs, Oklahoma. Avery's love for his family extended beyond his immediate relatives, as he maintained close relationships with many other relatives in OPP, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
