Velma Irene (Cox) Layman

Velma Irene Layman, a resident of Hanna, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Checotah, OK at the age of 96. She was born June 17, 1922 in Hanna, OK to Jesse Cox & Mattie (Kerns) Cox.

Velma and husband Rev. JD. Layman pastored the Hanna Assembly of God for 40 years.
She was a farmer, quilter and business owner. She dearly loved gardening and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J.D. Layman, daughter, Trena McDougal, brother, L.C. Cox and brother, J.D. Cox.

Velma is survived by her daughter,
Ramona Cipponeri & husband Tom of Riverbank, CA,
daughter, Joyce Berry of Hanna, OK,
daughter Lavendia Ketchum & husband Milo of Checotah, OK,
17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren,
and 12 great-great grandchildren,
brother, Terrel Cox & wife Shirley of Dustin, OK,
as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019 and on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 8AM - 8PM at Integrity Funeral Service.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta with Rev. Wesley Berry, officiating. Interment will follow at Hanna Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
