Lois Mae Burgess a resident of rural Okmulgee county passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 in Okmulgee at the age of 91. She was born March 30, 1920 in Coalton, Oklahoma to John Elmer Tedlock & Blanche (Sater) Tedlock. She married Carranza C. Burgess in 1940 in Oklahoma. In her young years she joined and attended the Schulter Baptist Church.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carranza C. Burgess, three brothers, John Tedlock, Edward Tedlock, & Warren Tedlock, also two sisters, Ailene Hill & Dot Lee Carvel.
She is survived by one son, Elmer L. "Butch" Burgess & wife Jane of Henryetta
One daughter, Wilma Wood & husband Kenneth of Houston, Texas
Three grandchildren, Dianna Burgess Price & husband Donnie of Henryetta
Cindi Wood of Pasadena, Texas
Sharron Wood & husband David Huffman of San Fransisco, California
Five great-grandchildren, Jason C. Lewis & wife Kristi of Henryetta
Amanda Lewis of Bethany
Chad Price of Dustin
Ethan Price of Henryetta
Bronson Morrill of Pasadena, Texas
Two great-great grandchildren, Taylor Johnson of Henryetta
Hailey Lewis of Henryetta
As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Lowell Churchill & Rev. Scott Harjo, officiating. Interment will follow in Burgess Family Cemetery north of Henryetta. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
