Charles Allison Obituary

Charles Franklin Allison, a longtime resident of the Henryetta area, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at his home in Henryetta at the age of 80. He was born on December 17, 1937 in Council Hill, Oklahoma to Woodrow Allison and Maude Ferial Allison.

Growing up, Charles attended school briefly with the Henryetta Public Schools and later graduated from Hitchita High School. Following high school, Charles attended Northeast Oklahoma briefly before returning to Okmulgee where he became employed by Ball Brothers Glass Plant in mechanical maintenance. Charles later retired from Ball Brothers with over 20 years of faithful service. Charles married the love of his life, Helen Johnston on May 2, 1959 in Elm Grove, Oklahoma. They remained happily enjoined for 59 years until his death. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hitchita. He was a remarkable carpenter and worked on numerous occasions to build and remodel homes for his family. Above all, Charles was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; a sister, Shirley Carson; a brother, Dicky Allison; and a son, Charles Timothy Allison.

Charles is survived by his wife Helen Allison of the home; a daughter, Julie Crosby and husband Curtis of Hitchita; two grandsons, Curtis Daniel Crosby and wife Debbie and Derrick Scott Crosby; a great granddaughter, Lily Crosby; two sisters, Mary Redding and husband Max of Jenks, and Sharon Williams of Council Hill; and two brothers, Tommy Allison and wife Betty of Council Hill and Jeffrey Allison of Council Hill; by other extended family and many good friends.

Following cremation, the family will hold a private Celebration of Life service at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Integrity Fuineral Service of Henryetta.
