Allen E. "Gene" Selvidge, 76 of Schulter, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, in Henryetta, Oklahoma at the age of 76. He was born February 7th, 1942 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Robert (Bob) Selvidge & Opal May (Armer) Selvidge.
He married Carol Elizabeth Edwards June 23, 1962 in Dustin. To this union two children were born Kamala Gay Selvidge & Allen (Glenn) Selvidge. The celebrated 56 years together.
He worked as a toll booth attendant for the Indian Nation Turnpike
Gene was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Gene loved music and loved to play the guitar. His love of the guitar brought a large collection of guitars for him to enjoy. He loved nature, being outdoors, going hunting and fishing with his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob & Opal Selvidge, also by one brother, Bobby David Selvidge.
He is survived by his wife Carol of the home;
A daughter, Kamala Gay Selvidge of Schulter;
A son, Allen (Glenn) Selvidge & wife Trisha of Eufaula;
Two grandchildren, Kamie Elizabeth Horne of Henryetta;
Kacie Mae Horne of Okmulgee;
Four great grandchildren; Kasidy Jayde, Swayde Matthew, Bo Newton, & Kactus Clay;
Four sisters, Julia Ann Berryhill of Schulter;
Barbara Selvidge of Henryetta;
Molly Selvidge of Henryetta;
Yvonne Heidinger of Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Canada;
Also by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Gene will be 4-8pm Saturday, Sunday from noon until 8pm, Monday from 8am until 1pm.
Pallbearers will be, Joe Bob Selvidge, Dale Pendley, John Selvidge, Rodney Gray, Eddie Withrow, & Brian Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jackie Wilson, Henry Massengale, Nowell Flanagan, Joe Benham, & Steve Jones.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 14th at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Harmon Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Dustin Cemetery under direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
