Wilbert Lowe Obituary

Wilbert Lowe, a steadfast pillar of the Henryetta community and beloved family man, passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 77. A lifelong resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Wilbert was born on April 26, 1946, to John and Minnie (Randall) Lowe. His journey came full circle as he departed in the same town that he was born, surrounded by the love and warmth of the place he called home.

Wilbert was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1964, and furthered his education at Oscar Rose College in Midwest City, Oklahoma. His passion for learning and growth was only rivaled by his dedication to service. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Later, he applied his skills and work ethic as a jet engine mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base, where he contributed his expertise. In his final employment before retirement, Wilbert worked for the Thlopthlocco Tribal Town where he was a land surveyor. He knew many of the backroads and especially had knowledge of the tribal land jurisdiction.

Wilbert is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jacob Lowe and Timmy Lowe.

In his personal life, Wilbert was a devoted husband to his wife, Mona "KoKo" Lowe of Henryetta. Together, they built a life filled with love and mutual respect that served as a heartwarming example to all who knew them. Wilbert was the proud father of daughter Lisa Watson and her husband Brent of Shawnee, and son Brad Lowe, also of Shawnee. He cherished his role as a brother to Tony Lowe of Henryetta, Marvin Lowe and wife Sharon of Weleetka, and sister Rachael Sumka and husband Jerry of Henryetta.

Wilbert Lowe's legacy lives on through his adored grandchildren: Brent Randall Watson and wife Chaney Watson, Troy Lowe, Janelle Watson, Wesley Lowe, Jimsey Fish, Jr. and wife Rim, Michael Fish, Trever Fish, Kyrah Roberts, Feather Roberts, Deziree Herrera and husband Abraham, Sr., Brian Roberts, Jr., Jadyn Viveros and husband Kenneth, Jacoby Randall, Jude Randall, Svwenv Blackhorse Anderson, NaNaBaa Blackhorse Anderson, and Mvhayv Anderson. He was also a great-grandfather to Adriana Watson, Rylee Dick, Quinn Dick, and A.J. Herrera. His enduring influence will continue to shape the future of his great-grandchildren and the numerous nephews, nieces, and other friends and relatives who survive him.

Wilbert took great pleasure in being an active member of his community. He was a devout member of the Arbeka Indian Baptist Church, where his faith and love for his church community were apparent to all. He also participated in the Wilson Indian Community Center, showing his dedication to his heritage and his neighbors.

Among Wilbert's passions was his love for the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed taking scenic rides through the countryside, dining at his favorite restaurants, and spending quiet evenings watching old westerns on TV. But above all, Wilbert loved his family deeply. He was happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, sharing stories and making memories.

Wilbert Lowe's life was a testament to his character - he was a man of faith, integrity, and patriotism. He navigated life's challenges with the same steady hand he used to repair jet engines, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
