Hazel Summers Obituary

Hazel Jackie Summers, known affectionately as Jackie, passed away peacefully at her home in Moore, Oklahoma on March 5, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on March 1, 1949, to William Oscar and Elsie Blanch (Meek) Blair. Jackie was born in Eufaula, Oklahoma and lived in Dustin Oklahoma before moving to California then Arizona. She then returned to Dustin for school where she married her sweetheart and then settled in Moore, Oklahoma to raise her family.

Jackie met the love of her life Billy Virgil Summers and were united in marriage on September 3, 1965, in Dustin, Oklahoma. Their loving partnership was a testament to devotion and mutual respect. Jackie's professional life was marked by over 12 years of dedicated service as an office assistant for Moore Public Schools. Her commitment to the well-being and development of young minds was evident in her work, where she was not just an employee but a mentor and friend to her colleagues and the students she encountered.

Jackie was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Dustin and Norman, Oklahoma for her whole life. Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and solace. Jackie's belief was a source of inspiration to many, and her actions reflected the teachings of compassion and kindness that she held so dear. Jackie loved to sew, cook, read her bible and spend time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Oscar and Elsie Blanch Blair and four siblings, Leroy Blair, Patsylene Blair, Odell Blair, and Wilma (Gabby) Branum.

She is survived by her husband Billy Virgil Summers of Moore, OK; three sons, Bradley Scott Summers of Goldsby, OK, Billy Virgil Summers II of Moore, OK, and Charles Anthony Summers of Sisters, OR; twelve grandchildren, Brittani Summers, Jake Summers, Kaleb Summers, Chloe Pesch, Cody Summers, Cade Summers, Annie Summers, Noah Leal, Nicolas (Nic) Leal, Nathan Leal, Brennan Maxon, and Brant Maxon; one great-grandson, Nash Summers; and three sisters, Melba (Nanny) Wallace of Dustin, OK, Maggie Smith of Dustin, OK, and Sandi Crawford of Dustin, OK along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Integrity Funeral Service with Reverend Michael Branum officiating. At the request of the family and Jackie, the casket will remain closed.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Summers, Cody Summers, Kaleb Summers, Cade Summers, Noah Leal and Nathan Leal.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nic Leal, Brennan Maxon and Brant Maxon.

Interment will follow the service at Dustin Cemetery in Dustin, Oklahoma.
