Nathanael (Nate) Glenn George, 17, was called to Heaven March 29th, 2017 at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York, after a 10 month and two day battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. Nathan was born November 19, 1999 in Okmulgee, Ok to William Raymond George II and Glennda Robin (Leist) George. He attended Henryetta High School and was a three-sport letterman in football, basketball, and baseball, and a member of the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. He attended church at Town and Country Christian Church in Okmulgee, and was a member of the First Baptist Church Youth Group in Henryetta.

Nathan was a bright young man with an infectious smile that lit up the room. He excelled at athletics and in the classroom, bringing joy to everyone he met. He is loved by family, friends, classmates, and his teachers. Nathan’s battle with Cancer touched thousands of people worldwide, as the Facebook post announcing his passing reached nearly 80,000 people in three different countries.
Nathan is survived by his parents William and Robin George of Schulter, his sister Brooke RaeLynn George of the home; and older brother Tyler and wife Hanna George, and seven-month-old niece and Goddaughter Henleigh George, of Okmulgee. He also leaves behind his Grandparents Anita Wilson and husband Sonny of Henryetta, and Glenn and Patricia Leist of Schulter, as well as Rita and Gary George of Michigan. He is also survived by one Great Grandmother Betty Long and Aunts and Uncles Patti and Donnie Dixon, Chrissi and Marshall Martin, Brandi and Jerry Rowe of Schulter, as well as Mandi and Richard Seaborn of Henryetta, and Melissa and Chris Garrison of Mansfield, OH. He also leaves behind cousins Patrick and Andrew Dixon, Autumn, Randall, Daniel, and Kevin Seaborn, Faith and Emily Martin, Lexie Pippin, as well as Zach and Mya Powders, and Riley Floyd. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Brittani Hembree, Best friends (The Brotherhood) Drew Brown, Colton Wion, and Kaden Speer, as well as a host of other friends and family.
He is preceded in death by Great Grandparents Harley and Martha Bryant, Jack and Bertha Leist, Lester and Suda Bell Shepherd, William (Jack) Raymond George, and one uncle Kevin Ashley Leist.

The family would like to add, our baby "Nate" was a blessing to each, and every, person that he met; he Loved God and his family so very much and was the strongest person you could ever meet. We cannot find the words to express the amount of love we have for our baby and the impact his life has had on so many people. He will be missed more than words can be expressed.”
