Joe Wasko Simpson, Jr, a resident of Hanna passed away Sunday, October 8th, 2017 in Tulsa at the age of 76. He was born July 9, 1941 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Joe Simpson, Sr. and Ida (Gouge) Simpson. He graduated college with a master's degree and worked as an inspector in the oil industry.

Joe is a member of the Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church, Peach Ground Ceremonial Grounds, and the Kialegee Tribal Town.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Stella Simpson, three brothers, Belcher Simpson, Archie Simpson, Isaac Simpson, also by a sister, Betsy Simpson.

He is survived by three sons, Dennis Simpson of Hanna;
Archie Simpson of Henryetta;
Travis Simpson of Eufaula;
Six grandchildren;
Three sisters, Amy Bruner of Moore;
Susie Harjo of Hanna;
Polly Hearn of Bristow;
Also by nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Viewing will be 2-4pm Thursday at Integrity Funeral Service. Wake services will be held at 7pm Thursday at Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Weogufkee Indian Baptist Church in Hanna with Rev. Ernest Best & Rev. Anderson Fields officiating. Interment will follow in Hanna Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
