David G. Farley, a resident of Henryetta, passed away Sunday, August 21st, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 70. He passed from this world to a place where there is no more pain and he is at rest with his Lord.

David was born on February 17, 1946 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to David Lem Farley and Lula Mae Adams Farley. David grew up in the Henryetta area attending school and Ryal and Graham Public Schools. Following his graduation from Graham High School, where he loved playing basketball and baseball, David went to work at the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Henryetta. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army, where he faithfully served for two years before his honorable discharge in 1967. Following his military service, David returned home to work at the Ammunitions Plant in McAlester. David later went to work for Public Service Company of Oklahoma in 1975. He remained in that capacity for approximately 35 years before his retirement in 2010. David married his high-school sweetheart and the love of his life, Barbara Fowler in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on July 27, 1966. David and Barbara had just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

He always planted a garden and shared with his friends, neighbors and family. He was a one of a kind character who never met a stranger. He was always there for you with an encouraging word or helping hand.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers, Lloyd Farley and Bill Farley; his sister, Polly Williamson; his granddaughter, Brooklyn Farley; and Penny's daughter Amber.
